Joseph F. Poretta — “Joe” to most, “Joey” to family and old friends — was a devoted husband to Casey, proud father to Ben, James, and Mary, and a cherished son, brother, and friend. Known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and ability to make everyone feel welcome, Joe lived with a rare combination of warmth, loyalty, and joy.

After his family, Joe’s great passion was golf. He could often be found on the fairways of Doylestown Country Club, competing with friends, enjoying a match with his dad, or simply soaking in the camaraderie of the game. Golf wasn’t just a sport to Joe — it was a way to connect, to laugh, and to share time with the people he loved.

This outing honors Joe’s love for the game and his lifelong belief in the power of community. Proceeds from the event will support the Joseph F. Poretta Memorial Scholarship, awarded each year to a graduating high school senior who has lost a parent and is preparing for college. It’s a cause that reflects Joe’s compassion, his commitment to showing up for others, and the legacy he built for his family.
