MASSACHUSETTS VEST-A-DOG is excited to announce the third K9 FRANKIE MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT.
K-9 Frankie was tragically killed in action on July 26, 2022 after a subject barricaded himself inside for several hours. The man stated he would surrender bu then shot Frankie as he and his handler Sgt Dave Stucenski approached. K-9 Frankie was the first K-9 in state police history killed in the line of duty as well as the first K-9 in the state to receive emergency care under Nero's Law, which is named for Yarmouth Police K-9 Nero wounded in 2018.
All funds raised from this initiative will go to the Mass. Vest-A-Dog general fund. These funds are used for bi-annual grants submitted by departments all across the commonwealth. Funds are used for K-9 Candidates, Essential Equipment, Training and more. Qualified teams can request a protective vest anytime throughout the year. A portion of the funds will also be committed toward a yearly K-9 ALS (Advanced Life Support) training weekend.
