All of us, family and friends, wanted to get together annually to share stories, remember moments and honor Lawson. We decided a golf tournament would be fitting so began the Lawson Wherry Invitational. We also wanted to find a cause in which we would be able to assist in preventing this tragedy from happening to others. After some search, we found out LeBonheur was planning to bring Project Adam to the Memphis area. Project Adam was started by parents who lost their child to sudden death just as we lost Lawson.

Our first tournament in 2020 raised approximately $10,000 which was the springboard enabling LeBonheur to begin the process of bringing Project Adam to the Memphis and surrounding areas. LeBonheur was so appreciative of everyone's efforts they honored Lawson by naming the Memphis chapter Lawson's Legacy, so in 2021 we gave the tournament a new name - Lawson's Legacy Golf Tournament. In July of 2021 LeBonheur became an official affiliate of Project Adam and our 2021 tournament raised another $10,000. Over the past two years we have raised approximately $18,000 each year. 2025 was our biggest fundraising year thus far raising a total of $22,660, lets see if 2027 can beat that!

We hope our 2026 tournament is the impetuous to laughter...a little competition...and the warmth of those who love Lawson. And, we invite all who would like to join in the effort to further the reach of Project Adam through Lawson's Legacy.
