The LJ Classic Golf Tournament was started by Larry Messina in 1996 to raise money for the Habitat for Humanity – one of the charities supported by St. Gabriel’s. The tournament name was changed to the LJ (Lawrence J Messina) Golf Classic in 2005 upon his passing. The Messina family continues to hold the annual golf tournament for parishioners, friends and family. LJ’s legacy of charity is as strong as it was 30 years ago! LJ’s simple idea of raising money through a golf tournament has raised an estimated $150,000!
