The Monica Hughes Henke Golf Outing raises money for the Monica Hughes Henke Children's Fun of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. The event was started by Brian Brinkmoeller over twenty years ago to honor Monica Hughes Henke's legacy of educating and caring for children at Children, Inc., now Learning Grove. As a young man raising three daughters on his own, Brian was in desperate need for a safe environment where his daughters could receive the highest level of care and early learning. But he was severely financially strapped. That didn't faze Monica and Children, Inc. Brian enrolled his daughters at Children, Inc., and they would figure the money out later. Sadly, Monica unexpectedly passed away in 1995, with three young children of her own. Later Brian achieved some financial success which allowed him to return the help and pay it forward. He has never forgotten the help he received from Monica and her family in his time of need. He started the fund, which now supports multiple needy families in providing the highest quality care and early learning for their children. It is an amazing story of caring, generosity, and gratitude.
