The Very Simple Golf Tournament is a vital fundraiser supporting Manna Academy and Manna JSS.
Each year, it costs approximately $120,000 to operate our schools — covering teacher salaries, daily meals, curriculum, and essential operations. This does not include special projects or improvements.
Today, we serve over 600 students and employ more than 50 staff members. The success of this tournament directly impacts their education, stability, and future.

This annual tournament is in honor of George Okun, who passed away in a car accident in October 2017.
George was more than a staff member at Manna — he was like a father to many of the children. He loved them deeply, believed in their futures, and invested his life into their growth. He was also known for reminding every U.S. visitor that life in Kisumu, Kenya was “VERY SIMPLE.” What started as his joyful phrase has become a legacy.
We know the children of Manna — and their futures — mattered deeply to George. This tournament continues that mission. Every swing, every sponsorship, every gift helps carry forward what he cared about most.
